It can be a joke between brother and brother, or sister and sister. But I think mostly it was done here to create tension

I doing know where you are but in mi country it can also be done as a joke between friends, and I remember when one girl on my group friends didn't like it but never said anything to the other girl and just went and talked to the teacher. So if you haven't please do, somerimes what is just natural to us is uncomfotable for other
