I think it's great that you're trying to look at the bright side of things but you're deluding yourself if you think he has any good qualities. Sovieshu kicked out Navier's brother out of the kingdom and is framing him for something he did! Also he kept the fact that he fed Navier cookies that made her infertile to himself when he could have at least told Navier now that they're both older. He's a coward as well as a jackass. And you're right during this time period it's common for emperors to have mistresses but so can the empress, and when Navier was just politely talking to Heinry and that other Duke he made her seem like the bad one for doing the exact same thing he is doing!!! The only thing I can agree with on what you said is the fact that he does seem to care for that child.
Also don't forget the fact that he played that stupid prank on Navier where he made her believe that he cooked Heinry's messenger bird and she fucking fainted!! Defend him all you want but this man is just plain garbage.
Hmmm....true. I'm not saying he isn't garbage. All I'm saying is that I feel bad that he is turning into this kind of person because of a child he believes is his. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, after all. Even if the intentions are selfish in a lot of sense. And he seemed to be a really good person before Trashta came into the picture too (/TДT)/
True still he made the choice of choosing rashes now the rashes spread like a disease. Wait I disagree on him being good while he was a child did u not see where he didn’t even care about his mother trying to make someone infertile, he was also kind of busy thinking about the stupid mistake he made that almost made my Queen infertile. Like he seriously don’t no shit about other people he ain’t a good ruler.
Ok. I get that we all hate the husband for divorcing Napier. However, I have to draw the at him being a bad person. He has a mistress, this is normal. He is under the assumption that Trashca hasn't slept with anyone as USUALLY you wouldn't sleep with someone else when you are the mistress of ROYALTY. He thinks he has a child. He now has to think about what could happen to the child if the mother isn't able to establish a proper social circle to protect herself with. So, he marries her as that is the best way to automatically put her under some of the best protection. He says he loves her, but when he spoke to the priest, he only mentioned the child. It seems he loves the child more than anything. Which I think is a good trait. Plus, he never makes up charges against Napier herself. He knows she's a good person and cares about her so can't make charges that directly make her the perpetrator. It's all convoluted and messy. But I see where he is coming from.
