I think it is foreshadowing that the fish hates it’s life and will kill itself. Exactly how the pearl boy might in the future

I know there are more beta fishes in that world. In ours we have THOUSANDS of some megalithic number. But it could be the only one colored similar to our little oyster and Pilwon is the anal douche and just playing mind games
