I really think/theorize that behind the scenes people have decided that the mc was going to be with Ahin. That’s the reason that Catiel keeps talking about giving up the mc and losing her. So the red head was a jealous prick upset he wasn’t chosen. At least I hope. It’s a good theory, no?
