After the former king's sister, Princess Margaret or Greta ran away from home, the former king's become so over protective and overbearing to Princess Venessa (Jona's Mother, Luca's grandmother) to the point that she decided to be married to Duke Winterwald to ran away from the castle.
-So now, Luca is the great grandson of Princess Margaret (previous King's sister) and also the great grandson of the previous king.

When the former king, realized that Judith is related to her sister, he would become overly protective with Judith. He would try to split Rudy (ML) and Judith. He was completely against with Rudy, to the point that he would banned entry of the Winterwald's in the capital and would locked up the MC in the castle. He became so overbearing that the MC tried to ask her royal cousins to escape, just to visit Rudy. Luca and the former king is just like a pair of shoes when it comes to being against with the ML and FL's relationships.
Good news is, the former king didn't bother the MC anymore when she gave birth to Ludovica. Its like he shifted all of his attention to his great grand daughter.
P. S The reason why he became so overly protective with Judith is because she reminds him of his late sister, who ran away and married a commoner just because of his handsome features or looks. He also became overly protective of his daughter, Princess Venessa, to the point that it suffocates her, so she became rebelious and married Duke Winterwald just to escape from the castle.
The funny thing about this, is that the Former King was also against with Venessa and Duke Winterwald's marriage.
Note: Vennessa and Duke Winterwald didn't love each other. Venessa is someone who rans around and do some crazy things with other man, while Duke Winterwald only loves Sophie and is only dedicated to her.
Anyway this is the last major spoilers that I will drop, since I wanted y'all to love the manhwa and experience what I experience while reading this firsthand.

Eudith or Judith is related to the previous King. So she's a royal. The previous king have a sister whom he loves so dearly to the point that it suffocating her. Her sister (Judith's Grandmother) fell inlove with a commoner. The previous king opposed their relationship due to the differences of their status, so her sister ran away and married that commoner (Another Spoiler: She fell inlove because of his looks). So yeah, Judith came from a royal lineage, and Sophie (Duchess Winterwald) probably knew that she's from a royal lineage because of her eyes. Having a purple or light purple eyes are rare and only the royal lineage has it.
