SPOILERS
in a couple of chapters the woman yu-er switched with at the beginning of the story will come back, shes jealous of him and of how the emperor treats him and will begin to make rumors about him to the empress and basically isolate him and cause a witch hunt for him, the ml will escape and when he goes to kill the emperor it will be revealed the emperor took yu-er’s mother and has her locked up as a prisoner and he calls out the ml for using yu-er to find his clans treasures the same way the emperor was doing(yu-er hears this) then something happens which makes him hate the ml, and he sets out to find his people(i forgot their clan name) the ml follows him in secret, pretending to be a mute guard who is going to protect him on his journey in case people try to kill him for being the concubine of the ml. once with his clan he finds out they are a dying race and that he and one of the clan members are the last remaining of-age members with blood of their ancestors and so they ask him to marry him so that he can give birth and continue their clan(yeah it turns mpreg lol) yu-er agrees but he had already started to fall in love with the ml-disguised as a guard, the ml doesn’t want him to get married but when yu-er agrees to it he hides and doesn’t show himself until the clan is attacked one day and he reveals himself as the ml, he helps yu-er save his clan and then with the help of yu-er the ml overthrows the huns and he becomes the emperor, yu-er forgives him and they get married and have a baby
oh i forgot to mention the purple concubine was actually childhood friends with yu-er’s guard and that the guard has always been in love with him but he disappeared and was sold off to a brothel (the same brothel the ml’s ex wife tried to sell yu-er off to) in the future they get married and adopt a little boy
oh and also yu-er gains his voice back in a few chapters
