Yeah, that could be it. Though I was kinda hoping it'd be something hilarious like if by "waking him up" he had meant that time when she stabbed him with that hairpin, helping his consciousness wake up after millenniums, so he was actually *grateful* to her for stabbing him as if with that she'd done him a "huge" favor, haha.
I bet with you they know each other in the past but she died, got reincarnated and forgot about her past life. Maybe she was also one of the ancient gods in the past.
