not really? translations should be done by those who are FLUENT and can masterfully nuance the meaning behind the dialogues, not those who rely on papago or google translate... it's almost similar to spreading misinformation, because much of the story is lost if only translated thru apps and not a PROPER and FLUENT translator
if you want to try out cleaning, i suggest joining a scan group! there's always groups looking for more help with cleaning and they have their own translators as well so you wouldn't have to worry about that. the groups usually have their contact info in the credits page!
and just because "many" are doing it doesn't mean it's right... if you want to learn a language, do it on duolingo, and not by doing shoddy translation jobs just because you want a pat on the back by strangers on the internet

hey! i’m like you and fairly new to scanlation, i’ve already began doing one by myself and need help with cleaning up, i already found someone who will do the typesetting with me and i am the translator. would you wanna team up and work on them together?
i was actually going to join one but i have things like school so i wouldnt be able to do as many as needed by the scan groups

ive been practicing cleaning for a while now and i think im fairly good so if there's any dropped manhwas or smth that you want to be uploaded i can try as long as i find raws, i will be using apps like Papago btw as i don't know any foreign languages
