This chapter is cute but I can't stop thinking about

Isn't it a little bit sexist that he didn't respect her wishes just dressed her up like a doll without her say so not even asking her what she likes, but he does respect his nephew's wishes let him choose what he wants.

Idk what to think

    Yeah, I thought that too

It irritated me too but then again its not the modern times. In those days we can't expect women to be treated like now.

Sexist? No. Rude? Yeah. Nothing about what happened implied he chose her outfits because she's a woman, what was implied is that her taste was bad.

Entertaining that it were because she is woman, it'd still depend on the thought process there. One way it'd be sexist (under the assumption that he bought her clothes for her because she is a woman) is if he viewed women as helpless, therefore choosing her outfits for her. But if his reason for choosing her outfits for her (because she is a woman) is because he was trying to impress/woo her, i don't think that'd be sexist. Dumb maybe, but not sexist.

    Correction her taste was "unique"

    gomini April 25, 2021 2:14 pm

Hmm... in my interpretation and according to the dialogue, it was done like that because her taste in clothing was bad and i would also like to guess that it was done for the comedic theme in which a child had "a more normal/better" taste in clothing style than her.

Plus, if we also put in to account that this wentoln is based on an era where women weren't financially independent, then we can also conclude that this was kind of like "the norm" back in those time.

As the men were expected to bring money, tale care and guard the family.

Plus, the guy has been to the "city/capital" whereas she lived in the outskirts for 27 years. So it is to be expected that he knew what clothes were on trend.

If he was wooing her the things he bought her would be i gifts, you can reject gifts, she couldn't say no to them.

And of course we don't what's going on in his mind. so as long as somebody doesn't explicitly say something sexist or racist or bigoted there actions can never be sexist or or

    Yeah same thought.

Readers be like forgetting the timeline and calling out ml such as rude and sexist. They all should not read any isekaid manga since the settings of the timeline is always like this.

But she still migrated to the past. So... honestly, when in Rome, do what the Romans do. Imagine "defying/being a woman of our time/strongly disagreeing" with a male noble (a duke at that) at that time ... that would've really been the shortest webtoon ever (⌒▽⌒).. she died coz she was beheaded or something

"If he was wooing her the things he bought her would be i gifts, you can reject gifts, she couldn't say no to them."

He's a pushy guy and wooing someone isn't a specific action. It's done in different ways. As far as saying no, he asked her if she hated the gifts and she said no, he then said "then there isn't an issue" and she didn't argue further. If she'd been aggressive enough, she could've said no.

"And of course we don't what's going on in his mind. so as long as somebody doesn't explicitly say something sexist or racist or bigoted there actions can never be sexist or or"

We're reading about a character, you go off of what's there and what's there doesn't back the theory that hos intentions were sexist. What is there implies her taste was bad.

Was Luca sexist too? He did the same thing.

Y’all are doing way too much over-analyzation shit, making things something it’s not and completely misunderstanding his character. This scene is not supposed to be deep, nor sexist. Both him, and Luca were choosing clothing for her only because she had bad taste. It’s nothing more than that, and it was simply supposed to be a cute scene. He is obviously a very kind character, and for you to label him sexist so easily... You remind me of the people on Twitter who get sensitive over every little thing. Also it’s so obvious that the Duke is a slightly himbo (attractive but slightly unintelligent man.) character...
