I hope not, I hate that trope too but she actually seems like a normal human being instead of "oh wow he bought things for me without my consultation with his rich money is this love" bullshit. She thought he was self-centered and seemed distrubed (which is a rational and normal reaction) so I'm guessing that he will have a character development, which for me, that's better than being perfect from the beginning.
I think you missed a lot lol. He's not that kind of person at all! He (and her nephew as a matter ir fact) dictated the clothes shopping scene because she has terrible taste. They scene after that pretty much explained that when her nephew called her fashion sense "unique." It was actually them protecting her because bad outdated fashion would leave a bad impression on aristocracy.
Why is the overbearing black haired ML who can’t read a room and is self Centered rich ass a thing? I was hoping this would be Fine but nope. That buying dresses scene was too much I know where this is going he Will just push his ideas on her and wear her down until She mistakes that feeling for love. This would be better without any Romance or just subtle hints.
