I read somewhere that the FL's dad threatened the ML that if he got close to the FL and the son he would kill them both. Idk if it's true or not.
Even if it is- he could've just tried to tell her about it in secret instead of letting her suffer like that knowing she did not have anyone who cared about her.
I'm sick & tired of Manhwas using this trope to justify the patheticness of the ML. Also according to the

He kind of agreed with the FL's Father and kept Elle away from her because he thought she would hurt him and was weird and he went to some kind of war later but when he came back he saw that the other woman had been sent by the Father in law in the mean time when he was away and he wanted to send her off but Elle had started recognising her as his Mother and it was a mess. When Elle grows up he find out who his real Mum was and how his Dad locked her up in so he then locked the ML in a room for deceiving him in such a manner and treating him in the same pathetic way his father treated the FL in the first life.
So this was what actually led the ML to turn back time (maybe?) and not repeat his mistakes of the past. I'm kind of happy he atleast got to pay for his worthless actions in the first life.
He was not a good husband and he knew it therefore in this second Life/ time reversal he is trying to avoid those mistakes and find a solution instead, something a good human being would've done in the first place.
No matter what ppl say, for me, ml is shit. Maybe this will go down the cliche plot where "oh this person actually doesn't hate her in her past life despite how shitty he treated her" and poof- ml has been justified. He wasn't there for her at ALL! He wasn't even there during child birth! The only time he showed up was during the wedding n her death bed☠☠
