Idk I like it when characters do morally grey things. Don't get me wrong she's being awful, but it's also smart. She believes he's not going to love her more than the real protagonist, so she'd rather make him loyal to her no matter what, than trust that he'll always have affection for her. So even though I think she's in the wrong, I think she's a really interesting character and the story would be so boring if she was a good person who did everything right.
I know right? it drives me crazy how easy it is in other stories for them, it feels so bs and easy.

I really like how she isn't like other characters in these reincarnation/villain stories. Like she isn't super positive and excessively nice to the people she just met. There's so many stories in which the protagonist only succeeds and gets far because she is nice and people like her without her putting much effort but I like it when the protagonist actually has to strategise. Also the fact that things don't come easily to her is a breathe of fresh air.
