Of course someone from the US would notice something small like that.
Because MOST are RACIST, Does that answer your question
Because cover is colour and the manga is black and white ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Um.. what? The U.S is not the only country full of racist people, they are everywhere. Also, i do not believe that was a racist comment if they where just confused as to why he looks so much darker in the book but not on the cover, (which would be cool if he was more darker btw) and um.... how exactly is that small to notice.. because it wasn't, others noticed that too it's easily visible.
Lol thats a pretty large generalization you have there. Its almost as if you get all your information about an entire country and its' people from mass media.... without ever experiencing the entire American culture.... Most people who visit the US are surprised at the friendliness of American people, you should try it sometime.
No one commented on it until "Kitty" made a stupid comment about the color of the uke, that's how IT starts. This story was written beautifully about a man coming to terms with his sexuallity. Trying to fight his feelings for another man, but realiziing in the end he loved the uke from the beginning. Yet, all "Kitty" (the one who made the stupid comment) focused on was the uke was darker then the seme. Just saying.
I'm sorry if I offended you in anyway but you're coming off as ignorant for criticizing a simple observation. I was just wondering why the artist would exaggerate on it in black and white. It could've been artistically, because of their differences. And even if it was about race I don't see the problem. There aren't enough inter racial couples in yaoi. There is nothing wrong with what I said, you are the one making it racial.
*ignores the fight*
Since mangas are B/W they can't show you the actual colour throughout the story right? But by using these tones you can now see that Saya's skin tone is darker than the rest. It's like how they use different shades of Gray for coloured hair~
The colours are a lot more clear on the original magazines to be honest.
He's a gyaru.
Jesus. Did even anyone of you read the whole thing.
Maybe you need to reread Kitty's comment and investigate a bit about Gyarus before passing judgement. First of all you don't even now Kitty's ethnicity's and you already decided she's a racist. How do you know she's not Asian, Black or Hispanic? America sure have lot of ethnicities.
Second, do you even know what a Gyaru is? They came up as way of protesting the ideal of a white Japanese women as the only model of beauty. Japanese can be quite racists. Is extremely hard to find a beauty product that doesn't have a whitening factor in it. So the fact that he is portrayed more white-ish in the cover is.most likely due to sales. Japanese people are more likely to buy something with someone fair skinned than dark skinned. So it's not something small to notice as you said first. The one making the stupid comment was you. The one being racist is the cover and the publishers. Kitty didn't focus on the uke being darker than the seme but on there being a discrepancy between the manga and the cover.
And maybe you didn't read the manga quite carefully because instead of fighting his feelings he was trying to embrace it. That's what makes this manga great and unique. Usually they try to run from it, but Yuusuke knew that he was hurting Saya so he tried his best. Please do practice on reading comprehension and thinking before answering. Thank you.
What's up with the uke having darker skin in the Manga but in the cover he is light skinned lol
