This story is complicated. Romance is a big part of it, but that's not the only main focus. I have to say this story is written for more mature audience. If you are looking for a lighthearted & simple shoujo romance, this is definitely not it. But if you are looking for complex story, where the emotions are conflicted, & the events of the past & present muddle the relationship, with hidden motives & court intrigues, then this is for you. The story is very layered & very nuanced, there will be a lot of angst involved. What you see in the prologue is not all of what happened at the end. We only know that he died, & she held the sword that did him in. But we can't definitively say if that was revenge or what. With only 11 chapters in, you won't see the romance just yet. But both FL & ML did love each other, which will be depicted in later chapters. However, the FL could not forgive the ML for what happened. While the ML had only ever loved the FL since they were young. There will be loving & tender moments between these 2 that's pulling them close, but then the hatred will keep them apart. It's not the kind of story that will give you a piece of mind, or happy vibes.

It will never happen after all the fl really have huge grudge toward the ml even though deep down.. The two of them love each other.. Kind of sad because one hold of the past and the end of their life.. Nothing what the both of them expected to be (▰˘︹˘▰)

Oh, there will be a child between them, still, not even that can bridge the wide gap between them. There will be a few tender moments between them, but knowing how it will all end, that only adds to the sadness. Throughout it all, the ML dedicated all his love only for the FL, but regretfully, there was just no way to fix things that had already happened, whether or not he was at fault. Sometimes, in an imperial court setting like this, where people bickered over power all the time, & some would inevitably fall victims to circumstances. It's just the price you pay for power. The only consolation is, you can rest assured that at the very end, everything would've fallen in its own rightful place, & even though there were enough regrets & sadness to last a lifetime, she would've finally made peace with herself. This series is a tragedy, all the way to the bitter end. If you can handle tragedy, I would highly recommend this series for you, because it's unique, & the plot is interesting. It was quite highly regarded in Korea, that it received a high quality tankoubon (printed book format in full color on glossy paper). Not very many webtoon get to receive such a treatment, even if the author seeks for one. However, if you are someone who is easily depressed, then I won't recommend you to read this, because this will shred your heart to pieces.

Whaaaaattt there will be a child so she is basically killing her childs father! After all that thing can she really have a peace she wanted? I am really not the tragedy guy who can handle all of this sadness but the way you describe this novel want me to see the tender scenes even if its briefly... And thank you for your reply(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

She is not the one who killed him me. He will take his own life because he want to free her and because he is afraid that she will kill herself and will live him behind, as he really loves her and he can't live without her... Is really a unique story and really heartbreaking..
