Okay, I'm confused

All these years she hid his child from him, denying her kid a father when he hadn't actually done anything wrong, and when he freaked out about being a parent and started enquiring about his daughter's welfare, she gets mad? I dunno the history between them, but why has she taught her daughter to villainize the dad? What is this?? This is annoying to me, the father should have equal rights to know and educate as the mother, atleast when he hasn't done anything wrong? What is with this 'Mother knows best, so she beats up dad when he talks' approach?
