The uncle manipulated him, he is still hung up and his uncle and keeps the tattoo as a reminder. Hope this helps~

I know my reply is pretty late but i don't think he is still hung up to his uncle, he never actually loved the uncle, he just liked him as a family, that's why he cried when he remembered how they used to be before his mother died. And he kept the tattoo because it was the first choice he chose out of free well.

That's just my opinion tho

I think so too and the feeling he has for the uncle is different from one we have for a lover. He love the other guy but the uncle has also a special place. It is really difficult bc this kid need therapy but didnt get it
