When his father died sung jin woo was still able to say his last good byes and I found it an emotional moment so I still remember it.
Plus you see him a bit more in the side stories in the novel where they're a family again.

Though his father does die *now*, in the end, Jin-Woo still manages to fix everything and live happily with his family. So his father's death now won't actually be permanent.
