Yes, but he had no problem playing daddy for cosette. He treated cosette better from the moment he met her. Whenever Kiera would try to get close to him he would tell her to stop bothering him if it’s not important but cosettes allowed to run up to him shouting “father”. He’s a failure of a father and doesn’t deserve any redemption whatsoever. There’s being indifferent and then there’s executing the daughter you raised for 18+ years.

Perhaps. But that doesn’t change the fact that he wouldn’t visit his injured child, well before the whole cosette thing. His slight concern for her now seems so pathetic. And if any manipulation was gonna happen it would have to happen after cosette shows up and he’s been a shitty father since day 1. He just seems like a deadbeat. And If he was then the plot would be way too similar to who made me a princess, you got the manipulated father, tower magician, fake sister and everything.
There is no excuse even if his family is supposed to be strict to their kids. There's a clear difference between neglect and strict parenting. Her father never once payed attention or checked up on her when she legit through her self down the stairs. Also he was the perfect parent for Cosette so that argument isn't valid tbh. You can raise your children to be good, independent and strong people when they grow up while also showing you love them so I don't feel that he is justified like at all.
Im not into this daddy bcs he's hot something but did you guys atleast saw that kne chapter where he said/explained in his mind that in their Family they are not allowed to show any affections to their children so that when their children grow up they wont easily fall or get used by the people around them the children need to grow up serious and really strict as an adult that's why he cant show anh affections to Keira or his son something? Did you guys noticed that or did y'all let it slip in your minds???
