（/TДT)/ I hate the main couple but the second couple has me super duper curious. like I don't wanna comb through thousands of chapters of the novel. I mean-

i mean i don't mind the main couple it is just that the plot is like every ceo webtoon hahaha and for once there is sth different the second couple ofc i am also staying coz the art is fabulous

wow they are so much more bearable in the novel. on chapter 67. 315 is where the TZ drama happens if you want to start from there, but i started from the beginning since the webtoon doesn't really go into much depth like the novel. Unlike Lucia (all time favorite. The webtoon follows the novel it's such a blessing!)

Based on what I remember. They went to the same university and met there. He fell in love with her and she did too. However he was very poor so he did not feel worthy of her. The chick that likes him befriended SJY and happened to come from the same village as Jinyan. She deliberately made SJY misunderstand that she and Jinyan have a special relationship. The truth is, Jinyan only uses that misunderstanding (that he didn't clear up) so he could be close to SJY. He's a dummy that just stays silent all the time but he was actually really sweet. Whenever SJY was on her period he would get supplies for her and give it to the friend for SJY but of course the "friend" acts like Jinyan is her boyfriend. Anyway this sort of thing goes on for years. There's even a birthday party where he worked and starved himself to save money to get SJY a present but I don't remember exactly what happened anymore but he wasn't able to give it to her. And I think he misunderstands that SJY likes someone else.
Fast forward to graduation night. They all get drunk. SJY and Jinyan end up sleeping together. However SJY thinks that maybe Jinyan made a mistake and doesn't want to see him in the morning. So she snuck out. As it happens, the "friend" uses this as an opportunity and shows up. For a long time Jinyan is confused about what really happened that night since the "friend" deliberately didn't say much and let him misunderstand. It's lots of misunderstandings:/ Some time before that there was this scholarship to study abroad. Jinyan worked hard to get it so that he can be with SJY. She thinks he worked hard to go abroad with the "friend." In the end Jinyan declined it. He worked hard and established his own company, rejecting the chance to pursue graduate studies. After a year(or more?) he comes back and proposes marriage to SJY. At this point they both think that the other likes someone else. (SJY also has a friend that's a policeman or military guy.) They get married despite this and eventually they get along well enough. However one day Jinyan discovers that she's been using contraceptives and he was really hurt. Unknown to him it's because she's unsure of his feelings (I think???) and also because she still hasn't told Jinyan the truth. That night they spent together she was actually pregnant. Jinyan didn't know because she was studying abroad and gave birth there. However the baby was taken from her by the "friend." At some point during their marriage the "friend" uses this baby to break up the couple. Jinyan still thinks tht he really didn't cheat on JingYu but the DNA test really says that this is his baby. Lots of angst and misunderstandings. Some comedy with Jinyan using the child to try to get close to SJY. She has some complicated feelings abut this because she didn't want to get close to a child that's not hers. Eventually the kid gets sick and JingYu finds out this is her son that was stolen from her. Jinyan really didn't cheat on her. Jinyan is determined to get her back. She goes on vacation alone but her friend Yao Tian (the police man in love with her) follows her too. Jinyan is very hurt and doesn't take care of himself. (There's a short flashback while they were married where Jinyan got injured and JingYu tried helping him and even when he's in pain he doesn't cry out at all) He rents out the vacation room next to theirs and even ends up collapsing when he gets a fever. So JingYu finds out and takes care of him. Some time passes. He's even crying when he gets divorce papers from SJY. Jinyan hears about a wedding happening in the Si family and he thinks it's SJY getting married. He boards the plane and shows up at the wedding with some grand speech. Lol it's actually the mom getting married. He's embarrassed but relieved. At this island he lures SJY to some cave and that's where they finally reconcile. The cave he chose, he didn't realize could fill up with water. They get eventually rescued but anyway this near-death experience gave them a chance to clear up old misunderstandings. (There's some other stuff I'm not mentioning. It's getting really long and confusing already. It's happily ever after for them. SJY is even pregnant with their second child. She's named Shi Yao after the friend saved SJY's life. Shi Xun also gets medical treatment. The "friend" after her many schemes ends up getting paired off with a homeless man and she's miserable and never heard from again. )

the novel irritated me to no end. Ugh. I did research. This came up in a forum ^^

The second couple is more cliched than the first. A wife being made to forgive just because her husband didn't actually have a mistress outside when the problem is that that's exactly what he WILLINGLY made it look like. He's utter sh!t. So is the ML but the second couple's relationship is way more cliched than the first's.
