That really makes sense and they really be putting their blood sweat and tears into this cuz däm it's drawn beautifully but would they really half ass it and just meh men are easier. I totally understand from an artistic view but they're already putting so much work into it why would they just yk? I totally feel what you're saying tho
Exactly! Did you see the number of background characters? I struggle with just a single stick figure :'') Some authors would avoid frames with crowds, use pre-drawed characters, gray figures or just not draw them at all. You've got to hand it to the author's dedication to individually draw multiple characters from different viewpoints.
And okay, I understand the sensitivity around misogyny, but hold on, step back, take a breath and ask yourself; is this actually harming women and encouraging sexism? It's the freaking background and we've already been given strong female characters! Calm down!!
Oh wait, I didn't read you're comment probably and you make a valid point. I think focusing more on the backgrounds would dampen the quality of the chapters and with the deadline. The author is likely more confident at drawing men (*cough cough* very beautifully, might I add), but he still could have at least drawn a couple of women in the meeting too.
He might have been more focused on the story than the underlying meanings of things and didn't realise that it would offend others. Of course, I can't speak for him, as I don't know him, nor speak his language. But I love his work, so I'll throw myself in as his shield ヾ(☆▽☆)
I saw someone else also talked about this in the comments and yeah 500 and none were women that I could see at least. I would love to see a strong woman in this don't get me wrong I like it as is I LOVE IT but I do agree that it'd be nice if there were more powerful women and please to God not make then a love interest like at all. And yes like the other comment say there are some but could be more and even better
