They probably did do you remember in the anime Laurent called someone and said "You must be dying of boredom by now" and i think it's dorothy. Just a theory though we can interpret it however we want it's an open ending after all.
put me off a little. I just feel sad for Makoto getting used and also for his mom.

I’m still surprised Dorothy is still alive. I really wish they can cross paths again (Laurent and Dorothy) cause them being separated made me cry so much I just want them both to be happy together （/TДT)/
