Well that's why their discussion was good thing. The OG Chloe now has a fresh start and no one to smother her. She admitted she was still shy but she was already aiming to improve herself and looking forward to learning new things. In her past life, she was bullied and pushed into situations in which she made bad decisions. Now, there is no one to do that to her and she can make connections with people she actually want to be friends with; she has little consequences to her actions beyond taking care of herself. This was a win for her.
And now that the current Chloe knows that, she can move on knowing they both are enjoying their new lives to the fullest. That mental block may have been what kept her from having a zygote or whatever.
I don't think the OG Chloe would have been able to pull herself up by her bootstraps if she stayed. Women of her distinction were not raised to have hobbies besides having a husband and making themselves presentable. And with how she was treated, she would have never blossomed out. Likewise, current Chloe would have just worked herself to death with tea being her stabilizing point in life. She needed the break just as much.
Can the characters PLEASE STOP reminding us that the original Chloe had a "bad" personality? Yes, we understand that she was terribly shy and afraid of others, that she made all bad decisions possible. NOW STOP, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
Am I the only one who feel bad for the original duchess? Seriously, she just wanted to be accepted among aristocrats. I'm sure if she had friends she would have been described in a better light.
I would have preferred a story where the original Chloe improves herself at this point. And a story when she makes up for all of her bad decisions.
But eh, this story is nice too. But still poor real Chloe ╥﹏╥
