I was seriously hoping this wasn't a female power fantasy but here we are! This is honestly too fast paced Like we literally went through her entire childhood in the span of in a few sentences tf. Also can the artist draw her face correctly God damm

I agree with the rest of the criticisms but why can't we have a female power fantasy?

It very simple actually. I usually use the term power fantasy when it come to stories like redo of a healer where the character does extremely shitty things but its "justified" because they are the protagonist.

I only added female to it because it has a female lead. also the fl is doing things that if she wasn't the protagonist or a woman she would be considered and portrayed in a negative light by both the writes and the readers, I guess that's why used that word too

Yup the term "power fantasy " can have both positive and negative connotations. It really just depends on the context

It's pretty obviously a female power fantasy. She's being depicted as the strong person in charge even though she's a dainty noble woman...

Indeed, however, their explanations showed that they had different reasons for using this term.

The explanation you gave just seems to be very far from what a power fantasy is defined as

I have to disagree, like I said before it can be used with both negative or positive connotations

i don't know about the whole term discussion but i agree that if she was a man and had kidnapped a woman because of "wanting to date", everyone would bash the MC now. So i agree it's quite disgusting the way the story implies it's ok because sh's female and beautiful. don't know if it has anything to do with the words female power fantasy though...

I'm not referring to you using it as a negative, it usually is used as a negative. To me, it just seems that the stuff you said goes more into the "creepy asshole" category rather than the whole low-quality power fantasy, wish-fulfillment where the readers can project themselves on a bland protagonist.

That's definitely a very valid point. I feel like in general, male and female characters are shown to have certain traits. One of the traits that are associated with men is the idea that they want to have sex all the time and generally don't have feelings, one trait associated with women is that they are weak, trustworthy, and harmless. Those traits are deterministic, unfair, and sexist but they are still common within modern media. I feel like the combination of all those traits plays into this whole idea. And yeah, I agree it's definitively disgusting especially since it could affect how viewers view female rapists + kidnappers as well as male victims :/

    Overall not gucci at all
