I think the uke's soul was about to be destroyed when they used it to heal Cain, so they had to stop the procedure from fully completing. This resulted in Cain being half healed and the uke about to die. But when after Cain left and everything calmed down, the doctor noted that the uke's soul had actually healed itself. I think that's what Cain was commenting about. hope this helps!
