I don't like how people sometimes judge a person just because it is shown by the other person's perspective
thats why i rarely read comments because they (not everyone) just jump to conclusion and doesn't wait till the whole story pans out. i definitely do that a times, but i also wait and no completely hate a character first glance, unless its definitely reasonable
But you know what would help? Communication. He couldn't drop hints? Meet in the middle g a forest? Learn Morse code?! Anything?!
I know it's the a main part of the storyline, but it does feel frustrating as hell lol.
Indeed communication is the most powerful thing but there's many spies plant in that palace even in the separate house of the fl and at that time the prince is powerless so ig it's hard to make a move

Of course communication is important.. but remember past elena have to power at all. She was a commoner who married the prince. With no family/standing to back them up how do you defend against a duke that overpowered the imperial family & other aristocrats? The past timeline was impossible to survive, unlike the current timeline where she is gathering connections.

You can say that but the person who experienced "that perspective" (the MC) deals with whats presented to her. Im just saying it doesnt change the fact that he made his wife feel like she and her child were unloved. Theres almost always a story behind things like that, but it doesnt really mean the recipients of ill treatment have to ignore it since the other person might have a story. Subjectively, she has the right to dislike/fear him for what he did. Objectively, from a universal perspective, it was for the greater good. I know this isnt what you were implying and Im not arguing what you said, since it can be true pretty often, just my general thoughts on situations like that.

In the 1st timeline he was politically powerless. Everyone except the emperor (by that time the emperor was too weak to do anything against the duke) was his enemy. He was hoping for a baby girl, so there won't be a fight for the throne & her life won't be in danger all the time. When a boy was born he was happy but also scared shitless cause he knows the baby's gonna get killed by the duke. So he acted like he was disgusted by the baby & elena to protect them (rejecting them so the duke won't regard them as a threat). There were eyes/spies of the enemy everywhere including when elena gave birth. After elena got killed he actually went mad & killed the real veronica out of anger. He said to baby ian "your mother was one of the most beautiful/brave woman i know" or something like that (can't remember well lol). The prince basically knew fake veronica was elena even before ian was born, but he loved her nonetheless.
