In the past life... The evil brother just used the property to promote himself and be powerful by using her brother's estate and his sister-in-law as a slave..
In literal sense... He did use the property into his selfish goals.. He do not care for others living in the estate.. He just wants power..
Now that she is back.. She could be selfish too and getting away from trouble by selling the estate.... That way, she prevented her evil step family from further advancing their goals.
I think giving away the state to someone she trusts was a good idea. She doesn’t wanna remain there. She loved to be there with her husband and daughter, but they’re gone now—she has nothing to protect there anymore. I also believe she doesn’t want to have to fight with that evil snake over the property or the title. She just wants to breathe without fearing for her life and time to mourn her family quietly and peacefully. So many characters say “I wanna live peacefully!” But never even try to actually run away or just give away their titles. For once this woman did so and people are not happy. （￣へ￣）
