I love this mangaka and all of her works. She's completely different from all of the other stuff I've read, particularly the psychological. She's extreme, and why shouldn't she be? This is a work of fiction, and if fiction has to be as tame as normal life, then what is the point? Her imagination is without limits and that's what makes her works such a joy to read. They're not for everyone; not everyone's mind, psyche, feelz, or whatever can take this kind of concrete angst and psychological trauma, but for those of us who can, I think she's doing a fabulous job. Cookies are great as a daily dessert, but sometimes we crave 'Death by Chocolate' and that's what makes that dessert special just like Sadahiro-sensei's works.
