True, although she'd been neglecting the kid for so long I rather she neglect him than abuse him. I just feel sorry for the fl since she'd been depressed for so long and deppresion is seriously not a joke. This much should be well known information that if a person is depressed, no matter how we surround ourselves with people or how they were there for us, it wouldn't make it feel better not until we address what's been broken. The fl is actually commendable since she's addressing her fault and flaws and saying sorry for what she'd done and not expecting something in return. (╥﹏╥)
Yes absolutely!!! And people don't realize how hard it is to have compassion for yourself AND recognize you don't have an excuse and say sorry at the same time. MC is amazing! And if she had gotten help/support she sorely needed, she would have been able to be a better mom. I agree, it was better for her to neglect than outright abuse him. And she is really torn up with regret over Vincent
Also ppl complaining she's selfish bc she was partying.... She was depressed, suicidal, felt empty and alone. She went to parties because that was something in the past that made her feel better and made her happy, she was trying to fill up the hole inside of herself ... But as one chapter explained, she returned from those parties even more confused because they didn't help her. In her time people just said women were hysterical, she had no support or even the ability to understand what depression even was
This is so good and I cried so much. Maybe it's because I've experienced depression so I understand mc. People don't understand how you can be trying your best but your best is just to comply continue living. It doesn't mean you don't love the people around you. And they don't understand her and that she is just human and she's trying to get better. I'm so glad her and the Duke made up, they would have gotten married for love if they were just given the chance. She had no one on her side and she tried to be the duchess but was pushed aside and everyone treated her like an enemy in her home. Of course she felt resentful, she was 17 when she had vincent, she was still a kid herself. Anyways I'm happy the family is connecting and honestly this touched my heart in a way other webcomics haven't
