Its because the emperor(former crowned prince) announced that all spinel will be freed from slavery, the abusive man, liked the spinel, actually, but he didnt want to admit it because his father needed him to make an heir (he was stressed bcs of it) so he neglected his wife and became abusive to the spinel, but after the spinels were freed he got divorced with the wife (the wife knows the abusive man likes the spinel) so he confessed everything to the spinel and then the spinel also confessd to him

Im not confused about the story, I'm confused about how everything changed in one chapter without previous development. I'm hoping I missed something (a chapter), because if I didn't this is just terrible poor writing.
I don't know if it was because of the whole website going down but I think I missed some chapters. Like, when on earth did they changed to be an abusive couple to being in love??? Wasn't this guy like... the villain? What happened? I'm so lost.
