I think it’s because of the promise between Yuji and Yuta in chap 144 iirc, that Yuta must kill Yuji if or when he switch places witch Sukuna since Yuji knows Sukuna is after Megumi for some reason. But since Yuji and Megumi will go together and be separated with Yuta for a while, Yuji’s worried. So Megumi just said “If I die just kill him after that” to which Yuji replied with “No, that’s what we’re trying to a avoid”
To just kill yuuji if megumi dies...i wish someone truly cared for yuuji and not use the word death every few seconds ╥﹏╥

Yeah, but I think it’s also intended as kind of a joke on Megumi’s part when he said that. He even begged Yuji to “save him” in a way as to convinced Yuji not to let himself suffer and just be executed for the things Sukuna did. So I believe in that matter Megumi really cares for Yuji. Also I think Yuji came to terms with his fate ever since the beginning when he saw his grandpa died and even made his grandpa’s words his purpose - “to help those in need of it and have a proper death or choose how he dies in the end.” But yeah I agree with you in a way, I don’t want to see Yuji suffer anymore or even get executed in the end, but I think among the three he has the most possibility to die by the end, that is if our best girl Nobara isn’t dead yet. But I just wanna say we care for Yuji though, he just doesn’t know. ╥﹏╥
