They did that’s why they were hella surprised I’m assuming the people on the base who were reporting on his power level didn’t know

I think he transformed on the other side of all the debris so they didn’t visually see, but I think it’s pretty evident with Kafka running off at that speed and No.8 showing up at the same time that they pretty much figured it out.
