Nah, he’s the ML. Flashback is coming soon, actually: chapter 22. Reading this, I had to think about someone I know who truly only learned to love their kid after they got to know them. Not everyone has that natural instinct where they can love another being by just knowing that they’re a part of themselves. Heck, that could be why the emperor was able to think of them being alive or dead as something that can be dealt with as emotionlessly as he deals with some other aspects of his life.
Also, the fact that all she knows about him is based off rumors is not a selling point for me, but I see that a lot of people also take that at face value, so I think all that’s really left for us to do, is wait and see. I personally like the emperor for not being some kind of Prince Charming in disguise and I like that some of the theories I had about him having the character he now has, will be proven true,
Lol. Yes. What I mean is that I’m glad he is worthy of that „tyrant“ title, because I stumbled over many webtoons where the ml is described as a tyrant but then we see the supposed tyrant act like some super nice and emotionally stable guy who’s only an asshole to characters we are supposed to dislike anyways. Which is not really tyrant like ( ̄∇ ̄")
Certain parts seem to be rumors but I don’t really think that the guard captain made up that part about the emperor killing his parents. And how he pursues the MC without caring if she wants him or not, has tyrant qualities. And of course many people have problems bonding with their children. I just thought it was rather telling with him displaying such a lack of regard and empathy for the MC when she told him their child died. Even if it was a lie, he didn’t know that, so to not bat an eyelash and announce happily that they can have just more children was disgusting. So perfect tyrant qualities as he’s oppressive and cruel. I don’t hate him, this character flaw makes him more interesting but I hope it won’t end up with him just suddenly acting like a happy puppy because „love changed him“. Even though I didn’t see anything that betrays that he really loves her yet. Can’t wait for updates (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
The ml is an asshole but I’m glad that he actually is because the title describes him as a tyrant. It would be a cheap cop out if he was just simply „misunderstood“. We hear stories about his assholishness and even learn that he killed the guard captain‘s parents, so it makes sense for the MC to run away. Well, she doesn’t know about those people but she has seen enough of him to make a clear judgment about his character.
But I also wonder if this guy is really the ML. He didn’t seem to care about his potential child being dead and makes a flippant comment about how they can produce more children, like she’s a broodmare and not the woman he „loves“. And him loving her is only an assumption made by that old man who explains the spell to MC. I get the vibe that he really didn’t care about their one night stand and only got interested because she tried to act like nothing happened (not like other people who threw themselves at him) and because she was able to get pregnant by him. Something he said was impossible. I’ve been wondering why a man, who doesn’t care about anyone, would randomly fall in love with his knight just because they had sex, especially after us learning that he already knew it was her and acted like he couldn’t give less of a crap. But we also get scenes where he’s concerned for her. Damn, I’m just not able to read this character.
Hope we get a flashback from his perspective
