After the accident, Candy totally forgot about Hajun because of trauma. Hajun on the other hand forgot Candy's face and didn't even get to know his name. He could only remember the accident and that the kid hurt his wrist. Hajun relied on those memories to try to find Candy. When Jihyeon passed by, Hajun saw the scar on the wrist and thought he's Candy. They've stuck together ever since then.

The one in the picture is little professor Yunjae and it was taken on the day they met each other, also the same day little HJ got discharged from hospital following their car accident. Because HJ thought that was his little YJ because of the name and the scar on his wrist and didn’t let go of little professor YJ. That’s why professor YJ got scared and was crying in that photo. His mom took the picture for them. And by that time baby Candy has already left the country with his mom.

What will be the proof that candy is thay little kid? What about the scar thats supposed to be on candy that he saw on yunjae?
Actually candy never got any scars even if he got it was very minor, the blood Hajun saw in candy's hand were his own blood I guess & Hajun ended up thinking he might have gotten scars like him but no...as for yunjae he probably got in an accident which we dont know about & got that scar...because of all this stuff when Hajun saw a kid his age having scar in his hand, he ended up thinking it was the kid from back then he liked...
The proof is Candy’s face I guess. HJ couldn’t remember now but he will be able to recall baby Candy’s face later little by little and finally he realizes that Candy is that little kid he was looking for.
Well i just hope yunjae wont meddle in their relationship further and act like something was stolen from him when hajun doesnt really belong to him in the first place. I like yunjae as a character but i wont like it if he insists his feelings on hajun coz from the start he’s just got mistaken for someone else.
Wait I know it's late but I just caught up with Red Candy again. I'm pretty sure the kid at ch 35 was Candy, right?? I mean that's how he probably even came up with Red Candy, because of that cotton candy ヾ(☆▽☆)
But then at ch 40 Hajun heard the name Jihyeon (is it candy's real name? I forgot if this was mentioned) as little candy was taken away by his mom. And then at high school he met Jihyeon the professor, but it seemed like they had a history as kids because of the picture.
So, Hajun actually confused Jihyeon the professor with our Candy?? His first love was really Candy but maybe he met this other Jihyeon and thought they were the same person?
