in the novel it has been implied that he’s actually a r@pe victim. there’s a festival where they have to dance because of a certain reason and he can’t even hold her hand without being disgusted (trauma). so he apologizes, tells her what happened and asks to come in her bedroom every night to hold her hand for practice. also even though his hand is trembling and she tells him to not push himself, he said he really wants to dance with her.
i’m not a fan of the whole concept of fixing men but because of the fact that he had to conceive a child at the age of 15 for the throne i don’t really blame him.
also he shows more emotions than in the novel so that’s nice to see ig. the author literally describes him as a statue
