I don’t think she knew immediately but she knew before she left. This is just my opinion but she stayed because 1) he abused the servants of the house if she tried to leave and 2) maybe she loved him for a bit and had to think about it cause love is like that sometimes. (I’m not sure but I think it’s true cause they were dating) Honestly I just think it’s cause of the scummy ex boyfriend in some way or form
I think she knew about it three days before the fiancé arrived and she was hesitant to leave since she had been living with him for so long
