everyone keeps attacking benjamin but i think he truly believes everyone around him will get hurt so i understand why he wants to keep chess away(´°ω°｀) i think his family played a big role on his way of thinking (he also had a nightmare involving his family looking at him like they were afraid or disappointed) so i believe he's just extremely traumatized and doesn't want chess to get hurt
