Yes it might be... but I humbly seem to doubt that.. because I feel like the TOP really is smart, because I assume he is handling the company in the future or you could say he will be a CEO someday (Chap1) and you can really expect that he is really smart. You can't expect him - a top to be on the lowest. But I'm sorry if it sounds illogical but that is how I perceive the story. I know Jiwook is sick but I really do think he feels betrayed or should I say speechless(?) as he presume that the TOP is not an academic achiever BEFORE... so he ask for tutor session with Jiwook to pass the exam uwu But actually not the case.
I believe he was because he didn't tell him about that... and he would never know since he is not enrolled last year. And Jiwook believe he ask for tutor thing to him because he needs help... but actually not the case. Its an educated guess since he walks out after hearing what that teacher(?) is saying.
Jiwook: Seungeon... must've got good grades this time, sir
Teacher: Of course, he's the first rank after all ever since he got in high school until now
This part where the teacher said he's the first rank after all ever since he got in high school until now strengthens the possibility that their scores have been switched after all. Not only on the recent test but their records all through high school.
So y’all are just going to disregard the development that blue eyes went through this whole time because Jiwook ran? Really? Is blue eyes supposed to be a sociopath who doesn’t truly care about the ML and yet behaves as if he does, even when he’s alone with no one around to see him act the way he does? (e.g.: thinking about how he misses the ML already).
Personally, the only plausible explanations I see for what transpired in the chapter are:
1) He’s actually sick and the author wants to fool us into thinking his grade was bad
2) His grade was bad because he spent so much time with/and thinking about blue eyes even when he was studying alone for a short time
3) someone from MC’s family or that other weirdo who likes to physically hurt people, arranged for their results to be switched so he can mess with them.
Also as far as blue eyes asking him to tutor him, he could have done that because he just wanted to spend more time with him.
"It was on TV the first day I quit school to start working. I studied all day and slept 3 hours every night to get accepted, but he gets broadcasted just for enrolling. I used to be a student there too... was what I thought back then."
This was jiwook's monologue on chapter 1 which indicates that jiwook studied there for the first 2 years of high school then stopped for 2 years and returned for the final year... This also means that jiwook's previous high school records were in that school which makes it possible for the teacher to switch their records.
"Due to some difficulties at home, jiwook had to stay away from school... He got in with excellent grades so feel free to ask others your doubts and clear them..."
This was the teacher's introduction of jiwook at chapter which indicates that jiwook had good grades before and further strengthens the possibility that jiwook's excellent grades were switched with seungeon's...
This is only a possibility anyway which I lean more towards as that is how I saw/interpreted what I read.
My point is that he’s still older than blue eyes. So in Japanese terms, he would’ve been his Senpai (forgot the Korean term). Meaning that it would have been impossible for their grades to be switched since they wouldn’t have been in the same grade; Jiwook would’ve been blue eyes’ upperclassman. If blue eyes’ grades were switched with someone’s since the beginning, it would’ve been someone else entirely.
JIWOOK YOU NEED TO BE STRONG... I KNOW IT HURTS TO FEEL BETRAYED BY SOMEONE YOU TRUST...
>> SO WHAT? IF HE IS THE FIRST RANK IN THE EXAM? AT LEAST YOU KNOW THAT YOU DO YOUR BEST ON EXAM AND AT THE SAME TIME .. HELP HIM TO STUDY?.
BUT GHAD... THIS IS FRUSTRATING UWU
