I feel that Godo isn't stable enough for a lover. He'd probably only see Kyose in the kid, and in the end kill him. No real basis for that idea, but I've read a lot, and with this style of story, it could easily happen.

Suffering from at least some severe ptsd, the mask thing kinda implies he also had a head injury and his face got messed up? Not to clear on that.
So agreed, not the best way to have a relationship, constantly seeing your dead lover in your new one might push him all the way over the delicate edge he's always on.
