I think Mikasa was chosen by Ymir because she was also in love with someone who didn’t show that they reciprocated feelings and that she loved him even if she shouldn’t and couldn’t because it was detrimental to their plans etc. maybe Ymir had faith that Mikasa could put all that aside and do what needed to be done letting fo of the ‘pain of love’ that Ymir was talking about. And she did, she killed him and ended the Titan heritage therefore ending Ymir’s grudge of that painful love. But for the 2000 year thing.. idk really. Maybe Ymir to Mikasa? Or Eren to Eren?? Because she was an Ackerman tied to their host. Not only she loved eren she was also instinctively tied to protect him just like how Ymir was subjected to King fritz. Mikasa was able to reject her ackerman blood and kill her loved one while Ymir was tied to King fritz as his subject and wife but she couldnt go against him.
I am really sad and confused at the same time. First of all I didn’t understand well how they linked the idea of “to you 2000 years in the future “ and this chapter. Why mikasa was chosen? Chosen about what? Why the power titan disappeared?. And also all this time I thought Eren didn’t like Mikasa but he actually did. And lastly I am sad because it’s finally over, they have suffered so so much and now there’s no more titan power but I am still feeling that pain and hate characteristic of the plot, I don’t know it’s strange it’s like I just really wanted them to be happy forever and seeing Eren saying he didn’t want to die broke my heart entirely, never thought Eren would say something like that. The ending wasn’t a disappointment, it leaves you with the feeling that the pain isn’t going away but keeps coming back.
