I'm kinda wondering want the aunt meant by "You can't stay like this forever". Is the King just not allowed to have ONE consort? Do they really need to add MORE women in the inner palace or something?

    This might be late, but...you know, this harem thingy has several benefits for the ruler like prestige (and pleasure of course) - but it's also to ensure that he'll leave off-spring, no? Off-spring means next generation and there's just no way that they can keep at this part-time-consort-play for years and years to come.

    If it's too leave offsprings then I understand but wouldn't one person be enough instead of having multiples? Seems like a hassle to have hundreds of potential heirs to the throne. The part-time thingy will definitely not last long T^T but here's to hoping that they somehow end up together~
