I'm sorry I voted down out of impulse, but this us genuinely out of curiosity, or to see your perspective... why do you hate the ml? I don't see any reason to hate on him, they were both hurt in the relationship. So if you don't mind can you please explain to me as of why?

The misunderstanding could've been solved if he confronted her not yearsS later. He feels hurt because his feelings are not reciprocated and he took pride on it instead. He's so blinded with her "you're my best choice" that he didn't even try to see her differently other than a woman who said that and so he keeps putting her in place, that box where she's called his wife & mother, and never included her in other matters that matter esp since she's also should be called the Duchess. Then the 'mother' on her name started to become blurry as she neglect her child and he didn't know why. When he didn't know the reason he just turn a blind eye, when he can't answer he just left it unanswered. His words himself, he turned a blind eye on what foolishness she's doing but there's a thin line between letting it go and full on neglect. And so he knew she's neglecting their child so it's there to assume that he also knew that the people in that house rejects her but he never did something to pull out that bud. It's like he knows the weeds are growing but he didn't bother because it didn't affect a whole garden yet.
Sure he's really patient, he's a good friend material for sure, and took action when it's there like with his uncle, he's willing to cut off a poisonous plant, but it's the little things that he ignore are what also contributed on her to break down.
He knew what he entered in that marriage but not her, as they keep leaving her in the dark.
He's not a total asshole but he knew she's being an idiot but let me held that off and slap you with it later when you try to act differently is what it feels. It's like he's putting her again in that place he built on his own, where she's just his wife that's it. For the most part, I felt was irritation because the outcome really shows that she's worse than him and it's so easy to blame her because he didn't do anything where it shouldn't be because he really didn't do anything.
That's it. I hope I explain it okay as it's kinda difficult to recall the feeling on my first read ><
yes that's what i was trying to think of he consciously decided to ignore the decisions the fl was making ultimately making it even worse and his communication issues even tho both are worse he was the one in the better mind and he could clearly see she wasn't so all he had to do was ask for a proper talk about just life i guess instead of the same what's wrong because no one knows what's wrong unless we figure it out from what happened
Right. Just because he's silent doesn't mean he's not in the wrong. Being silent and letting things happen only made things worse.
