It's actually a common fear in the gay community. I once dated a girl that was cautious with me 'cos I was bi ╮(￣▽￣)╭ I think being unfaithful or breaking up is something that happens despite your sexual orentation but I guess they feel you'll follow the "heternormative path" 'cos it's easier.
Tho I don't think the problem is with being bi or pan, more like the "straight bend" 'cos they believe they'll "experiment" with them and leave them to get back on the "straight path" eventually (sthg that actually happens a lot).
this trope of characters being in a relationship w a bi/pan person and assuming that bi/pan people are more likely to be cheaters is so damn harmful. bisexual and pansexual people ARE HUMANS, if they fucking cheat, it's because they are scum and a shitty person, not bc of their sexuality. it's infuriating seeing this trope so common in mangas where they're constantly doubted abt their faithfulness for the fact that they like multiple genders.
