He disappeared or rather he went back on the Ghost Realm although he left a necklace for his Gege as a remembrance or a gift, as well as Xie Lan goes back to the Heavenly Realm. They will also meet again when Xie Lan was on a mission and it is located at the Ghost City and that's when XieLan will see his true form since San lang said that the next time they meet he will be in his true form.
Season 1 covers chapter 1-30 but i suggest to just read the whole novel too
