Hahaha wat a generic plot. Like I've tried several times reading chinese manhuas but i just can't bring myself to like any of them, the only difference is the title, just like them, chinese's only difference between each other is their names. I know I'm being racist but i just hate their government and most of their people.
Novel-wise, the First part was good, the plot twist was good, everything was good until they started to drag the story. (A little bit of spoiler in the next sentence). It was all good but went downhill when FL went to the forbidden country (forgot what the term was) and ML pretended to not know FL because of his dual identity. Didn’t finish both the manhua and novel but FL was a real bad ass here
I've read the sp0ilers and I already know why he was an @$$hole. Just made me hate him more (why? Because it was just an excuse as is typically the case. It was clear from the sp0ilers that he knew things that made his subsequent actions even more, not less, irrational). Also he only changed because she did. The common abuser/victim trope where the FL has to be the only one to pick up the slack in emotional labour. Btw, she went to that forbidden country for a reason.
It's odd that most people like the cliche tropes but not the good ones though. But of those who do like the good ones very few even then consider that there are no tales that aren't repetitive anymore. There have only ever been thirteen original stories after all.
To Kaname, your comment, regardless of your self-proclamation, was uninformed. You apparently haven't read a Harlequin novel. Because those stories have just as equally abusive and repetitive tropes. Why is it that western stories and Chinese stories can be similar? Perhaps because fiction is an exaggerated reflection of reality?
Ive already read a lot of ML using Lu. Like, was that the effect of “Hidden Marriage”? I swear, I read and came across of a lot of manhuas and novel using Hidden Marriage as reference. Take this one as an example. ML - tycoon. FL - Entertainer. Sounds familiar?
Lol i wouldnt even be surprised if this story has a step sister/step family of some sort.
