Basically in the second last chapter, it was the past timeline and they were still investigating Shuli’s death. The person involved with the hot eyebags bishop dude that was an accomplice to her death decided to leak info and raise suspicions that it might be something related to the Holy Church. I think they added the flashback in the first place to help understand why she died the first time and can explain some future events like idk maybe she might be in trouble again. The most recent chapter they come back from the time skip and is more centred around the crown prince. Basically it explains how he never received love in his life and is trying to find it. It also explains why he was so fascinated with shuli because of her love for her children, reinforcing that after the trial. At this point he might makes some advances on her to receive her love.(SORRY IF ITS WRONG THATS JUST HOW I INTERPRETED IT ┗( T﹏T )┛)

He is only hot in 1 image in the whole series and thats when his hair is out, in the rest of images where his hair is slicked back, his fish eyes make him extra ugly and immediately point to him as a villain.
