oooo honey that man gets way worse, he becomes like creepily obsessed w juvel, like in his inner monologues he's always thinking about how she's his possession, thinks about capturing her and shutting her away from anyone. he's bad news PERIOD. there's a part where her dad goes over to mikhail's house and warns him not to bother her anymore and guess what the mf does, he goes full on yandere and says shit like he's gonna kill her dad so that way he can have her to himself. this is also a big SPOILER lol but later on in the story once juvel and max confirm their relationship to the public, once again mikhail starts w his bs again about killing max (not like he ever had a chance lmao)

so this juvel is actually the same person as the one she read in the 'novel', she's had three lives. the first one was when she killed herself, the second one was when she was a normal korean, and her third one is the present timeline.

so her dad was actually the one that let her have a second chance at life.

when he found out she killed herself, he went on a total rampage and killed everyone, including the emperor.

if you remember the pendant that she was trying to give him back (i'm not sure which chapters but you know which one i'm talking about) that's what helped him give her another chance to live.

the pendant grants you one wish at the cost of sacrificing yourself, and so he used it to give her another chance to live and she was able to live a new life in korea

she will find all of this out later on in the story bc they do talk about it to each other.
