Yeah that’s basically the whole plot. The romance so far is rather repetitive as well as her acts of heroism. Everything is in her favor and already laid her for her.
If you look at it from a writers view this lacks flavor like flour.
The Beginning and overall idea was good, Calliope as a Main character has been laid out okay but she has no bad side like a normal human being at all.
Every Male who is kind of handsome likes her for such insignificant reasons, just to make her the perfect heroine.
I just take this as a light read and try to ignore some unrealistic aspects.
yeah I agree, it started interesting ok, but then it got all trite with the singing storyline, but then again should have known with a name like Calliope where else could it go? Also she got her second chance thanks to her singing. Mostly reading for the pretty art though even there I need to keep reminding myself they're still kids (thank GOD they aged up from 5 at least ugh)
Man wtf. The author really out here making a rip-off white Harlem Renaissance literally to show how ‘ brave and worldly’ she was for going to the ‘bad’ part of town ONE TIME to get reference material for her tea party song recital. maaaaan what
And then!! Everyone being like “you gotta RUN or you’re gonna get SCOUTED by AGEnTS!!” and freaking out. Jeezey creezy. Of all the arcs so far, this one really took me for a tumble. Starting a revolution by singing your nursery rhyme so good all the twelve and fourteen year old boys cream their jeans. that’s the plan huh?
