SPOILERS!! I remembered a few from a spoiler comment i read somewhere. idk if it was here or another place, but...
The duke also has his memory of his "past". Exactly like what Lippe had. But his goal is very different from lippe.
His whole goal is to get to the throne i believe/kill the king. or something idk
Lippe's was to keep her family alive.
in the beginning, his whole goal didn't evolve Lippe at all. but he then met each other when she sang that folk song long ago. And that slowly gained him that he should also protect and help her too.
in the end they will soon be very helpful for each other's goal even more than how they have been doing!
to be more elaborate in what will happen, (you can stop here if you don't want even more spoilers of the whole story) Lippe will be very involved with the King. and Rias will need to protect her so the King's plan is ruined.

I'm assuming the Duke remembers their past life, but was it different from the one she remembers? Because in hers, she doesn't remember being close to him, but in his they were basically in love? And then the story shifted to her also remembering that they were close? I'm just confused, can someone please help me out? ╥﹏╥
