I have read many BL novels with zombie apocalypse theme and there was no useless MC's. It's a zombie apocalypse, no matter what genre it is, if you don't fight, you are dead.
The point is it's not actually focused about surviving a zombie apocalypse
Even if it's romance or smut, you need fight or be useful enough for other people to keep you. Otherwise you are just an waste. But well, I know I can't speak logic here. I'm just expressing my thoughts.

I still don't know how he survived that long in a zombie apocalypse without killing a one zombie. He would be killed off in the beginning or reduced to being a hole. There is no morals in apocalypse, so I don't think anyone would help him if he has zero use. And with his weak strength he would be raped all the time.
