he's probably been hurt before by someone very close and considering he can see peoples thoughts at all times, the negatives ones too, I guess it made him bitter but I think his feelings are pretty valid, obviously he is in need of some development but he's a good guy overall I feel

Well he’s was poor when he was younger and people probably manipulated him and took advantage of him so it’s properly a coping mechanism
